A 50-member team of 2008 Mt.Qomolangma Action At The Third Pole Of The Earth left Beijing to Mt.Qomolangma on May 15th.
The activity gets big support from National Environmental Protection Department. Tibet Mountaineering Team and Tibet Youth Mountaineering Team, which just finished the torch relay over Mt.Qomolangma will also join the action.
The activity will run for half a month. During that time, the volunteers will take analysis on sustainable development, replacement energy source in the farming and pasturing areas as well as ecological environmental improvements around the Mt.Qomolangma area. The team will also help the primary school right at the root of the Mt.Qomolangma build a wireless work station and a dining hall.
The Mt.Qomolangma Action At The Third Pole Of The Earth is a long term project integrated with environmental protection, education, scientific review and mountaineering. During the four years since its started, it has completed the construction for Quzong Pasong Primary School and Tingri Middle School and donation. It has also had power construction project in the worlds highest altitude village-Dui Village and sentry-Zhaguola sentry.
